Meet Bradley Babb
Irrigation specialist, permaculturist and carpenter with more than two decades of hands-on experience, most of it right here in Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico.
Water, land and building: one person who knows all three
Started in permaculture and irrigation
Bradley began in 2005 as an irrigation tech with San Isidro Permaculture in Santa Fe. He installed and maintained irrigation for residential gardens and landscapes, set clients up with water catchment and reuse systems, and designed erosion-control and moisture-retention work on trail and watershed land for private and government clients.
Certified in permaculture design
In 2008 he earned his Permaculture Design Certificate through the Permaculture Institute of North America in Pojoaque. That training shapes how he approaches every property: catch water, slow it down, build soil, and work with the land instead of against it.
Built homes and outdoor spaces
With Eco-Scapes Landscaping he planned catchment and irrigation systems and built custom portals, patios, railings and staircases. From 2010 to 2017 he worked as a carpenter with Palo Santo Designs, helping build sustainable, LEED-certified homes in Santa Fe, including Parade of Homes award winners. That work included site prep with a transit level, erosion control and reading blueprints.
Irrigation specialist
As an irrigation specialist in Oakland, California, he installed, repaired and maintained sprinkler and irrigation systems, tested for pressure and leaks, and set seasonal watering schedules based on soil and conditions.

What that means for your project
Most yards have problems that cross trades: a drip system that also needs drainage, a garden that needs both raised beds and catchment, a slope that needs grading and native seed. Because Bradley has worked as an irrigation tech, a permaculture designer and a carpenter, he can see how water, soil and structures affect each other and handle the whole job. Off the clock, he's a farmer, an educator and a father.
