Irrigation & land restoration in Nambé
Nambé's fields, orchards and acreage are watered by the Rio Nambé and its acequias. We make that water go further with efficient irrigation, and we help heal land that needs it.
What's different about Nambé
Ditch water from the Rio Nambé
Most irrigation water here comes from the Rio Nambé. Nambé Falls Dam, built in 1976, stores water for the Pojoaque Valley Irrigation District and the pueblos of Nambé, Pojoaque and San Ildefonso. Ditch water arrives on a schedule, so drip and storage help fill the gaps.
Land that needs restoring
The 2011 Pacheco Fire burned about half of the watershed that feeds the Rio Nambé, a reminder of how fast bare ground erodes in this country. Native seeding, erosion control and small water-harvesting earthworks help rebuild soil and slow runoff.
Orchards and acreage
Many Nambé properties have fruit trees, pasture and large gardens. Drip on orchards, catchment tanks and good ditch-to-garden layouts keep trees producing through dry years.

Nambé FAQ
Can you set up drip for an orchard in Nambé?
Yes. We design orchard drip that can run off a well, a cistern or a pump from storage, so trees get water between ditch turns.
Do you do land restoration and native seeding?
Yes. We restore eroded or disturbed ground with native seed, erosion control and simple earthworks that hold water on the land.
Do you work with acequia water rights?
We design irrigation that uses your ditch water and follows your acequia's schedule and rules.
