Erosion control & drainage for monsoon season

Summer storms can drop a lot of water fast, carving ruts in driveways, washing out slopes and pushing water toward your house. We redirect, slow and spread that water so it stops doing damage.

Questions

Erosion Control & Drainage FAQ

Water pools by my foundation when it rains. Can you fix it?

Yes. Usually a combination of regrading, extending downspouts and a French drain or swale moves water away from the house.

My driveway washes out every monsoon. What helps?

Water bars, rock-lined channels, culverts or regrading to send runoff off the driveway before it builds speed.

What's the difference between a swale and a French drain?

A swale is a shallow, open channel that slows and spreads water on the surface. A French drain is a buried, gravel-filled trench with perforated pipe that carries water away underground.

Can runoff be used instead of just drained away?

Often, yes. We can send it to planted basins or trees, turning a problem into free irrigation.
