Irrigation & garden services in the Pojoaque Valley

The Pojoaque Valley sits lower and warmer than Santa Fe and has a long farming history. Whether you water from a well, the new regional system or an acequia, we design irrigation that fits your source.

Local know-how

What's different about Pojoaque

A valley of many water sources

The Aamodt case, filed in 1966, settled water rights across the Pojoaque basin. Its regional water system will bring Rio Grande water to about 10,000 people, and hooking up is optional, so some neighbors are on wells and some on the new system. We set up irrigation for whatever you have.

Acequias and presas

Roughly 18 acequias run in the Pojoaque Valley Irrigation District, fed through presas (diversions) off the rivers. We connect gardens to ditch water efficiently and add drip for the days between turns.

A longer growing season

Lower elevation means a longer season for gardens and orchards, and more months of watering. Good drip layouts and timers keep plants healthy without wasting water.

Yes. We size and design the system for your source, whether that's a domestic well, a regional water connection, ditch water, or a mix.
